Conventional satellites (GEO): They orbit at about 36,000 km from Earth. This enormous distance causes a physical delay in signal transmission, resulting in high latency (often exceeding 600 milliseconds), which leads to annoying delays during video calls, slow application loading and an unresponsive browsing experience.
Next generation satellites (LEO): They are positioned in low Earth orbit, at a distance of only 500–2,000 km. This proximity drastically reduces signal travel time, cutting latency to around 20–40 milliseconds.
